Lisa Marie (Nazzaro) Ryer, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully at Brigham and Women's Hospital on November 19, 2020 with her husband at her side, after a brief but courageous battle with cancer. She was 57 years old.

She is survived by her husband; Frederick H. Ryer, Jr. and her sons; Zachary P. Ryer and Nicholas W. Ryer, all of Salem, NH. She is predeceased by her parents; Anthony J. and Dorothy F. Nazzaro, previously of Methuen, MA. She is also survived by her in-laws; Frederick H. Sr. and Sharon L Ryer of Ocala, FL, sisters-in-law; Melissa and her husband Timothy Roche and Danielle Ryer, all of Brooksville, FL, her nieces; Megan and Emily Roche, and many other family and friends.

Born in Boston, Lisa was raised in Belmont and spent many summers in the Cape where she helped her parents operate their small motel in Dennisport. After high school Lisa attended Stonehill College and BU, obtaining her MBA and going on to work for BU and Deaconess Hospital in their grants and accounting offices.

She met her husband, Fred, in 1990 and they were married in May of 1992. While raising two sons she returned to school and graduated from SNHU with her Master's in Education. Lisa went on to teach at Pinkerton Academy and then Georgetown MHS. While at Georgetown she started up a very successful DECA chapter. She loved to teach and many former students would contact her saying that she was an inspiration in their future careers.

Lisa was always a positive person, looking for the best in others. She was joyous and strong in her faith and always looked to help others or provide an uplifting word. She was married to Fred for 28 years and they enjoyed many interests together. They were able to travel with their sons and make many special memories. Among her other interests were going to the beach, reading and quilting. Wherever she traveled she would look for handbags, pocketbooks and totes drawing the loving eye roll of her husband. She had a Vera Bradley addiction. She was an avid fan of the Red Sox, attended many games with her father and wanted to the first female umpire in the MLB. She loved Mookie Betts. She was a fierce Donald Duck fan. Most of all, she felt most comfortable just spending alone time with Fred, who along with her sons, will miss her dearly.

Visiting hours will be held Saturday, November 28, 2020 from 10:00am to 1:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A funeral service will follow Saturday at 1:00pm in the funeral home. The interment will be privately held for the family at a later date.
