Louis A. Palazzo, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen after a brief illness while his wife and son watched over him.

Lou was born and educated in Lawrence, MA.  He was the son of the late Louis C. Palazzo and Theresa (De Rosa) Palazzo.

Lou served in the U.S. Air Force and was stationed in Texas.  He was a manager in the Bell Labs at Alcatel Lucent until his retirement after more than 40 years.

When younger, Lou was an accomplished Ten Pin Bowler.  Lou competed on Sammy White's Brighton Bowl TV Show and retired undefeated 5 weeks later.  When the Merrimack Valley Bowlers Association decided to begin selecting a Bowler of the Year at their annual banquet, their very first selection was Lou.  He also enjoyed playing golf with friends.  He loved the Boston Sports Teams and watched many games.

When the 50 ^th anniversary of his graduation from Lawrence High School in 1954 came along, Lou and a group of fellow graduates who became good friends planned LHS reunion banquets every 5 years for the 50 ^th until their 65 ^th .  Many stayed in touch and considered the planning a labor of love.  They all had the best time and couldn't wait to start on plans for the next reunion.

Lou was a devoted husband, father and friend and will be forever missed by his beloved wife of 59 years; Patricia (Alartosky) Palazzo and their loving son; Louis, Jr.  The family resides in Salem, NH.

Lou also leaves two sisters; Mary Mueller of Methuen and her son Tim and his wife Kelly and Margaret Meyer and her husband Ron, their son Lance and his daughter; Angelina of Greenland, NH, Lou's niece and goddaughter; Christine Makepeace of Hampton Falls, NH, sister-in-law; Judith (Alartosky) Greene and her husband Richard of Salem, NH as well as several cousins.

Burial was in the family lot at St. James Cemetery in Haverhill, MA.  The services were private.
