Obituary

Louis Ryzman, 73, of Salem, NH passed away unexpectedly at Mass General Hospital on Tuesday, November 28th.

He was born in Poland and spent part of his childhood in Jerusalem before moving to the US when he was 13 years old. Lou graduated from Boston Technical High School and he received his Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics from Suffolk University. He retired from Fidelity Investments where he worked as a quality assurance engineer.  He had a passion for website development and started his own web consulting business helping many companies establish their online presence in the early days of the internet.

Above all, Lou loved spending time with his family, close friends and his grandsons who filled his life with joy.  He enjoyed spending his summers at the family lake house in Maine and visiting the family condo in Florida during the winter.  He was a dedicated and loyal friend to many and treasured the deep and unique bonds he had with so many people.  He had an incredible sense of humor and always found ways to make everyone laugh with his infectious personality and smile.  He vacationed as frequently as he could, traveling the world with his wife and his two children.  One of his greatest passions was seeing his favorite musicians live and exploring new music & uncovering old favorites.  Lou could always be found in his free time enjoying an ice cold craft beer (with ice) while enjoying his eclectic taste in music.  He was a craft beer aficionado and enjoyed visiting breweries and trying new styles of craft beer.  He also enjoyed dining at new restaurants and experiencing fine cuisine.  Lou also spent many years coaching his daughter's soccer teams and attending numerous Patriots and Bruins games with his family.  He also had a deep passion for photography and capturing the beauty in the world that surrounded him.

Lou will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 42 years, Mary (Whiteley) Ryzman of Salem; his children, Richard Ryzman and his wife Stephanie of Newfields, NH and Rachael (Ryzman) Maranian and her husband Aram Maranian IV of Chelmsford, MA and his precious grandsons, Theo Ryzman and Aram Maranian V.

Visitation will be Monday, December 4th from 4:00 – 8:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.  The funeral service will be Tuesday, Dec. 5th at 10 AM at Douglas & Johnson followed by burial in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH.
