Louise DeChane, 91, of Salem, NH, passed away on Thursday, April 23, 2026.

She grew up in Methuen, MA, the daughter of the late Eva and Joseph Wermers. Louise graduated from Edward F. Searles High School where she was a majorette. Louise was a homemaker. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Louise enjoyed traveling, spending time with her friends and going to the Ingram Senior Center.

Louise will be deeply missed by her 3 sons, Paul and wife Heather of Manchester, Peter and wife Kimberly of Atkinson, NH and Matthew DeChane of Littleton, MA; her brother, Ralph Wermers;  her 10 grandchildren, Victoria, Emily, Marissa, Darrin, Gregory, Brian, Caroline, William, Keith and Samantha; her 5 great grandchildren, Gabriel, Asher, Malia, Walker and Makenna and several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Paul DeChane and her brothers, Roland, Arthur and Irving.

Calling Hours will be Monday, May 4, 2026 from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00 noon at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH 03079. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery.
