Manuel A. "Manny" Santos, 83, of Laconia, NH and formerly of Salem, NH passed away on September 24th at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born and educated in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late Mary (Moriarty) and Anthony Santos. Manny proudly served his country in the US Coast Guard and later in the US Army. He worked as a firefighter for the Town of Salem later working in security for Canobie Lake Park. Manny also worked at Goundrey Funeral Home for many years. He was an active member and Deacon for First Baptist Church in Salem. Manny and his wife were active volunteers at the inception of the food pantry at Pleasant St. United Methodist Church and stored clothing and bulk items in their home. Manny loved being an EMT and training people to do CPR. He volunteered for the American Red Cross for many years.

Manuel will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 54 years, Rita (Beaulieu) Santos of Laconia, NH; his 5 children, Bruce Paris and wife Barbara of Derry, NH, Karen Clark and husband Nathan of Alton, NH, Brian Paris and wife Tracey of WY, Sharon Woitkiewicz and husband William of Laconia, NH and Riccardo De'Pasquale and husband Matthew of OR; his 3 sisters, Donna Compton of FL, Tracy Wing of FL and Sharon Cutter of Methuen, MA; 17 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his brother, Tony Santos.

Visitation will be Friday, October 6th from11:00 AM – 1:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 1:00PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
