Marcelle M. (Labrecque) Marceau, 81, of Salem, NH passed away from her long battle with respiratory disease and eventually succumbed to COVID-19 on the 12 th day of December at High Point Hospice surrounded by her loving family.
She was born and educated in South Lawrence, MA the daughter of the late Juliette E. (St. Cyr) Labrecque and Arthur J. Labrecque. She grew up in a family of 12 children and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. She met her beloved husband Roy in High School and they shared 61 wonderful years. When her three children were grown, she began working at Hewlett Packard in Andover and she retired after 19 years when it became Agilent Technology. After Roy retired, they enjoyed wintering in Naples, Florida.
Marcelle enjoyed baking, entertaining and hosting family gatherings, especially on holidays. A favorite pastime was 45's and other card games. She was a wise shopper for herself and her family. If you needed something she would track it down. She loved to please people with thoughtful gifts and greeting cards. Her friendly and fun spirit resulted in many new and lasting friendships. Growing up in a large family, she became well organized and kept a faithful journal for decades. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving family and bonding with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She will be sadly missed by her husband of 61 years, Roy Marceau of Salem, NH; her son, David Marceau and wife Karlene of Danville, NH; her daughter Kelly (Marceau) Drolet and husband Sean of San Diego, CA; her 8 Grandchildren: Brandon Marceau, Kristen (Marceau) Gurley, Danielle (Marceau) Kidder, Julie-Ann, Michael and Katelyn Drolet; Lauren and Erin Marceau; her 5 Great Grandchildren, Chloe Kidder, Jason Kidder, Ryann Gurley, Kylie Gurley and Logan Marceau; her brothers, Paul Labrecque and wife Joyce, Ronald Labrecque and wife Elizabeth; her sisters, Madeline Casey, Claire Blackwell, Frances Hastings, Jacqueline Fredette and husband Henry and many nieces and nephews.
