Margaret C.
Dumblauskas
d. Sep 23, 2017
Salem
Margaret "Margie" C. (Hersey) Dumblauskas, 91, of Salem, NH died peacefully Saturday, September 23 rd surrounded by her family.
Margie was born in Wood-Ridge, NJ, the daughter of the late Hilda (Lundberg) and Frank Hersey. She had been a resident of Salem since 1939 and she graduated from Woodbury High School, Class of 1944. Margie's career was with the Town of Salem later working for the Salem court system. Margie's heart was filled with joy and pride when her grandson graduated from the Police Academy and was sworn in as a police officer to serve and protect "her town."
She was the epitome of a grandmother. Her grandchildren remember summers by the pool, ice tea in the green cups, homemade afghans, New Year's Eve drinking sparkling grape juice in champagne glasses, homemade Christmas pajamas, baking with Gram, Halloween costumes, big Mike sandwiches and sick days at Gram's.
Margie was very blessed to be surrounded by many who loved and cared for her. Margie's family would like to say a special thank you to Ronna Farley for her loving care and friendship and to her caregiver, Christine Rousseau. Gram so enjoyed the many homemade treats and hugs that she received from the Nason and Love families.
She was predeceased by her husband Francis Dumblauskas and her siblings, Frank Hersey, Harriet Hersey, and Gene Hersey.
Margie will be sadly missed by her children, Karen Massahos and her husband Jim, Jim Dunn and his wife Donna all of Salem, NH and John Dunn; 12 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and her favorite great-granddog, Regan. Although she will be greatly missed, her family takes comfort in knowing she was greeted by her one true love, 'her Franny."
Visitation will be Wednesday from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 12:00PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
Memorial contributions in Margaret's name may be sent to: High Pointe House at Merrimack Valley Hospice, 360 North Ave., Haverhill, MA 01830.
