Margaret T. "Peg" (Shugrue) Smith, 86, of Salem, NH passed away unexpectedly on Monday, Nov. 30 ^th at Catholic Medical Center, surrounded by her loving family.

Peg was born and educated in Haverhill, MA, the daughter of the late Blanche (Brocklebank) and Freeman Shugrue. She graduated from Haverhill High School. Peg was an LNA at Salemhaven for many years. Peg had a caring heart and enjoyed taking care of others. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great grandmother and she loved to spend time with her family. Peg enjoyed gardening and puzzles.

She will be sadly missed by her four children, Richard Smith and wife Kimberly Miller, Donna Perigny and husband Ken, Bonnie Smith and Frank Smith, Jr. and wife Deborah, all of Salem, NH; her brother Michael Shugrue of Salem, NH; her ten grandchildren, Tammy, Lynn, Erin, Julie, Missy, Rachael, Andrew, Brandon, Brianna and Jonathan; her 22 great grandchildren; her great great grandson and several nieces and nephews.

Peg was predeceased by her husband Frank Smith, Sr., her grandson, Colin Smith and her brothers, John and Freeman Shugrue.

Visitation will be on Monday, Dec. 7 ^th from 9:00 AM – 12:00 Noon followed by a service at 12 Noon  at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial of the urn will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, NH.
