Marilyn E. (Lundgren) Blakeslee, 85, a long time resident of Salem, NH and a former resident of Manchester, NH and Halifax, MA passed away on Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at Salemhaven.
Marilyn was the daughter of the late Bror (Gus) and Lillian (Blute) Lundgren. She was born and raised in Boston. She had various jobs throughout her life as a housewife, book keeper, secretary, house cleaner, aid in a nursing facility and was working as a clerk at Walmart until the year 2000.
Marilyn was always active in her community volunteering at her childrens schools, working the election polls, bowling, playing bridge with neighbors, attending ceramic classes, running neighborhood block parties and other various activities. Her most treasured times were spent with family and friends on vacations and at Lake Winnisquam. She was an avid swimmer, boater and water skier by day and loved a campfire at night. During the winter months her favorite activity was snowmobiling and she was a long time member of the Belmont Bogie Busters.
Marilyn is survived by her daughters, Michelle Paradis and husband Robert of Salem, NH and Susan Whalen and husband William of Taunton, MA and her sons Stephen Burden and wife Susan of Taunton, MA, William Burden and wife Elise of Bridgewater, MA and Robert Blakeslee of Tilton, NH. She also is survived by her sister, Joan Loughlin , a niece Carol Lechiara, 15 grand children and 12 great grandchildren.
Visiting hours will be Monday, April 2, 2018 from 5:00 – 8:00pm at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. Funeral services will be Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 10:30am at the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
