Marion Sambataro, 84, of Salem, NH passed away Monday, March 19, at the High Pointe House (Merrimack Valley Hospice), Haverhill, MA.


Born in Methuen, MA, she was the daughter of the late Emile and Mary Palese(Fish). She was educated in Methuen and went on to become a secretary at the North Salem Elementary School in Salem, NH. In 1989, she was recognized by the Lawrence Eagle Tribune as "Woman of the Year." After retiring, she dedicated her life to spending time with her family.


She was a genuinely sweet woman and didn't have a mean bone in her body or a negative thing to say about anyone. She was an amazing mother, grandmother, great grandmother, daughter and sister. Her passion was being with her family and helping others. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, dancing, music and volunteering. Her family was always her top priority.


She was predeceased by sons Mark and Paul Sambataro; husband Nunzio Sambataro; brothers Emile and Albert Palese and sisters Mary DeRoche and Caroline Slombo.


Marion will be forever remembered by her loving family; son David Sambataro and wife Val of Salem, NH, daughter Connie Stevens and husband Lee of Salem, NH, daughter-in-law Monica Sambataro of Salem, NH; sister Christina Newcomb and husband Joe of Nashua, NH; grandchildren Aaron and wife Cayley, Ashlee, Zachary, Ryan and wife Stephanie, Hannah, Shawn, Kevin, Brandon, Derek and Crystal; great-grandchildren Hayden, Noraa, Charlie, Anthony, Roman, Riley and Brinley.


Marion's service will be private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Suite 304, Waltham, MA 02452 with "Marion Sambataro ID#462477" in the memo line.
