Marlene F. Pelkey, 79, of Lawrence, MA passed away on Thursday, February 9th at her home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born and educated in St. Albans, VT the daughter of the late Margaret (Dougherty) and Arnold Pelkey. Marlene graduated from Bellows Free Academy. She was a manager at Verizon for 40 years. She served her country in the Army National Guard. She loved dogs and she enjoyed spending time with her family, traveling and watching Women's Basketball. Marlene was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan.

Marlene will be deeply missed by her wife, Irene Curtin of Lawrence, MA; her sisters, Deborah and husband Rev. Timothy Moore of E. Longmeadow, MA, Cheryl and husband Bruce Banning of Longmeadow, MA, Vicki Pelkey and wife Darla Ayer of Hinesburg, VT.  She was also second mom to Jessica Francis of Plaistow, NH and Jodi Curtin of Lawrence, MA; Meme to Liam and Michael Francis and is also survived by her sister-in-law, Patricia Pelkey of PA; several cousins including Colleen Pelkey and many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her brother, James Pelkey.

Visitation will be from 9:00 – 11:00 AM on Wednesday, Feb.15 ^th at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Funeral Service will follow on Wed. at 11:30 AM at St. David's Church, 231 Main St. Salem, NH.   Memorial contributions in Marlene's name may be directed to the St. David's Memorial Fund, 231 Main St., Salem, NH 03079 or to MSPCA, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844.
