Mary-Margaret Hamel, 77, of Cape Neddick, ME passed away on Monday, July 22, 2024 at Pinnacle Health & Rehab in Sanford, ME.

Mary grew up in Salem, NH, graduated from Woodbury High School and received her associates degree at Castle Jr. College in Windham, NH. After graduation she worked as a medical secretary for many years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, creating ceramics and knitting blankets for those she loved.

Mary will be deeply missed by her two sons, Steven Hamel and wife Lisa of Cape Neddick, ME and David Hamel and partner Kathleen Tice of Pepperell, MA; her four grandchildren, Emily, Caroline, Marie and Margaret Hamel; her sister-in-law, Diana Bean, and her two nephews, Russell and Michael Bean & families.

Mary is pre-deceased by her brother James Bean and her mother and father Mary and Russell Bean.

Visitation will be Thursday, August 22, 2024 from 6:00 – 8:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH. The family will hold a private funeral service Friday, August 23, 2024 at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. Burial of the urn will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
