Mary Martinage, 86, of Atkinson, NH (formerly of Peabody, MA.) passed away on April 3, 2024 at Salemhaven Rehab after a beautiful gathering with family members.

Mary grew up in Winchester and Reading, MA and graduated from Reading High School, Class of 1956. Mary and Donald and their family lived in Peabody, MA for 30 years.

Mary enjoyed flowers and was an avid gardener. She also enjoyed painting, grandchildren, great grandchildren and getting together with all of the family especially on holidays, as well as the many pets she had and cared for through the years. She won the Garden of the Month award from the Atkinson Garden Club. Mary was sweet and loving with a joyful personality and a willingness to help and care for others and animals alike.

Mary will be deeply missed by her beloved husband of 65 years, Donald Martinage of Atkinson, NH; her son, John Martinage and his wife Julia of Hampstead, NH; her son-in-law, Ronald Hunt Jr. of Salem, NH; her 6 grandchildren, Sophie, Julian, and Brayden Martinage, Katelyn MacDonald, Kiley Bartlett and Kelsey Shields. Mary had 3 great grandchildren, Katelyn and Mike MacDonald have two children, Nora and Charlie; Kelsey and Andrew Shields have a son Patrick James and she's also survived by many nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her son, James Martinage and her daughter, Janice Hunt.

Visitation will be Friday, April 12th, from 9:00 – 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH. Burial at Puritan Lawn Cemetery in Peabody, MA will follow.
