Mary Jane (Jackson) Moran, 86, of Salem, NH passed away on Wednesday, November 23 rd at High Pointe Hospice House, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born and educated in Concord, NH the daughter of the late Helen (Nadeau) and Douglas Jackson. Mary Jane graduated from St. Joseph's Girl's School and was an Associate Sister of Mercy. She was an activity therapist at Warde Health Center for 40 years. She loved working with the residents at her job and she was honored as the Employee of the Year during the annual convention of NH Association of Residential Homes. She spearheaded numerous projects over the years and her favorite projects were the annual Tea Party and a campaign to buy a 15 passenger van. She took the Sisters and residents on numerous trips over the years in that van. Mary Jane embodied the spirit of service throughout her relationships with residents and staff. She was always ready for a smile and a hug for however needed it. She enjoyed crafts.
Mary Jane will be deeply missed by her six beloved children, Kevin Moran of Salem, NH, Karen Freeman and husband Tillman of St. Antonio, TX, Susan O'Brien and husband Dennis of Salem, NH, Mark Moran and wife Colleen of Salem, NH, Kathy Moran of Naples, FL and John Moran and wife Heather of Salem, NH; her 18 grandchildren; her 9 great grandchildren; her 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband John Moran Jr., her son Timothy Moran and her siblings, Douglas and David Jackson and Joyce Woodward.
Visitation will be Tuesday, Nov. 29 th from 3:30 PM – 7:30 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Wednesday, Nov. 30th at 10:00 AM at St. Matthew Church, 2 Searles Rd. Salem, NH 03079. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Bedford, NH.
