Maureen LeMay, 80, of Salem, NH, passed away at Pleasant Valley Nursing Center on September 30, 2026.

Maureen grew up in Andover, MA and was the youngest of nine children of the late Bridget and John L. LeMay. She dedicated much of her working life to caring for others as a visiting nurse, a profession she found both meaningful and rewarding.

Maureen enjoyed the simple pleasures in life. She was an avid reader and especially enjoyed dining out and spending time with those she loved. Her caring nature and compassion for others were evident throughout her life.

She is survived by her beloved son, John D. Lemay and his family friend Nancy Smith of Salem, NH and her nephews, Christopher and James LeMay, both of Lowell, MA and

Maureen was predeceased by her eight siblings: John, Emmett, Augustine “Gus”, Bryon, Susan, Mary, Joan, and Frances Geraldine and her nephews, Brian J. and Paul.

Maureen will be remembered for her caring heart, her dedication to helping others, and the love she shared with her family.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, October 7, 2026 at 10AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH. Please arrive by 9:45AM. Burial will follow in St. Augustine Cemetery in Andover, MA. Memorial contributions in Maureen’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, P.O. Box 840692 Dallas, TX 75284-0692.
