I t is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Michael J. Fano after a brief battle with cancer.

A beloved son, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. Michael was the kind of man that would give you the shoes off his feet and the shirt off his back if he saw that you needed them and never ask for anything in return. He was truly the best uncle a kid could ask for. He believed that a child should have what he really wants, no matter the expense. He succeeded in giving his nephews, great nephews and his niece the best of everything, including, first professional basketball game, first WWE wrestling match, first Red Sox game, best gaming systems out, first driving lessons, fishing trips and much, much,  more. We celebrated "Fathers Day" as "Uncles Day" because he truly deserved it.

Michael also loved his mother Patricia with all his heart. Whatever she needed, he provided, from fixing the chimney, to doing her food shopping. Michael was a brother that you could count on any time of any day. He would always say "what's up", "what do you need", "I'll take care of it". Family was everything to Michael, and Michael was everything to his family. Michael's friendships were also important to him. He'd help you build a house if you needed him to do that. He stood by his best friend Jason Gates through every chemo treatment that sometimes lasted an entire day, sun up to sun down. But he was there. Michaels generosity and genuine, caring, personality, was unsurpassed and anyone that knew him, knew that. There are just not enough words to tell you how much he will be missed and how much he was loved.

We do not need to list the all the people that were close to him and that loved him, he knows. There will be a celebration of his life at a later date. People will be invited privately.
