Michael J. Scanlon, 71, of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, February 14 ^th at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.

He was born and educated in Lawrence, MA the son of the late Lillian (Edge) and Joseph Scanlon. Michael graduated from Central Catholic High School in Lawrence, Class of 1968 and he received his Bachelor's of Finance Degree from Husson College in Bangor, ME. He played Baseball in high school and college. He enjoyed the outdoors camping, skiing, golfing, fishing, hunting and boating. Michael was a firefighter for the Town of Salem for over 30 years.

Michael will be missed by his wife, Susan (Kozloff) Scanlon of Salem; his son, Joseph Scanlon and wife Catherine of Salem, NH; his sister, Joanne Scanlon of Methuen, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be on Sunday, February 20 ^th from 2:00 – 4:00 PM followed by a funeral service at 4:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH 03079. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Michael's name can be sent to Salem Firefighter's Relief Association, 152 Main St. Salem, NH 03079.
