Muriel E. Lundgren, 91, (formerly of North Andover) passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3 at Wingate Healthcare in Haverhill, MA from a long battle with Alzheimer's disease and complications from Covid-19.

Muriel was born in Boston, MA and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Enid Stephan. She attended Dorchester High and Burdett College in Boston, MA.

She worked for RM Bradley Real Estate in Boston before marrying her former husband Frederick Lundgren Jr. Later in life, she worked for Compugraphic/Agfa in Wilmington, MA.

Muriel was full of adventure and loved being active. She was a talented tennis player and one of Cedardale's first members, continuing to play the sport she loved into her 80's. She also loved biking, skiing and travelling throughout the country, her favorite vacation spot being Popponesset Beach on Cape Cod. Her love of music shined as a gifted classical pianist and in her younger years as a professional dancer. She was also an avid reader and enjoyed her daily crossword puzzles. "Googie", as she was affectionately called, adored her granddaughters Julia and Jacqueline and loved our family gatherings, especially when it included a competitive game of Scrabble. She loved all animals and cherished her numerous dogs throughout her lifetime.

Muriel will be sadly missed by her daughter, Pamela Cone and her husband Brad of Salem, NH, son Peter Lundgren of Dennisport, MA and granddaughters Julia and Jacqueline. She is also survived by her brother Robert and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers George and Richard and her sister Virginia LaCoste.
