Oliver Berkley Pottle, 98, of Kingston, NH passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on July, 20, 2024. Oliver was born and raised in Flat Rock, Newfoundland, Canada. He was the 9th of 11 children born to Albert and Alice Pottle. He moved to the Boston area in 1948 where he later met and married his loving wife Erma Dorothy (Flight) Pottle.

Oliver enlisted in the Korean War where he served as a Motor Officer of the 7th Infantry, US Army, earning the rank of Sergeant. He spent his career as a Foreman Pile Driver for W.P. Carter and was a proud lifetime member of Local Union #56.  He was involved in the construction of many of Boston's famous landmarks including the Museum of Science, the John Hancock Tower, Boston University and Copley Square buildings.

Oliver lived a very full, active life and was dedicated to his family.  He was a great storyteller and problem-solver. Oliver and Erma enjoyed summer road trips to visit Newfoundland where they spent time with family and friends.  Oliver loved home improvement projects, tending to his vegetable garden, playing solitaire, and reading non-fiction. One of his favorite past times was reading his monthly Downhome Magazine and finding 'Corky.'

Oliver Pottle was predeceased by his parents, ten siblings, wife, son-in-law, Robert Barlow, and granddaughter Jean E. Funk. He will be deeply missed by his surviving family which includes his children Cynthia Barlow of Kingston, NH, Kathy Ann (Edmond) St. Louis, of South Windsor, CT and David (Marsha) Pottle of Sheffield, MA as well as seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

The family will celebrate his life with a private graveside service at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Peabody, MA. A special thank you Beacon Hospice Inc., for the thoughtful care they provided to Oliver over the past year.  And to the Kingston Fire Department who were kind and compassionate when their assistance was needed.
