Paul A. Dacey, 92 of Salem, NH passed away on Thursday, March 29, 2018 in the Hanover Hill Healthcare Center, Manchester, NH. He was born in Somerville, MA a son of the late Daniel and Alice (Bullock) Dacey.
Mr. Dacey grew up and was educated in Somerville. He proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Navy during WWII. Following his discharge he went to work in the supermarket business, spending most of his working life in a store management capacity. He later worked for the IRS in Andover, MA. Mr. Dacey enjoyed the Red Sox and spending time at the beach. Mr. Dacey loved to sing and he enjoyed many sing alongs while at Hanover Hill. He was a devoted husband and father and truly loved his time watching his grandchildren and great-grandchildren grow up.
He is survived by two sons; Richard Dacey of Salem and Stephen Dacey and his wife Nancy of Manchester, two daughters; Joan Routhier and Mary Irwin and her husband Herb, all of Portsmouth, OH, by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and also by two sisters; Barbara Mulane of Hyannis, MA and Ruth O'Brien of Plymouth, MA and by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife; Alice J. (Murphy) Dacey, his two sons; Paul A. Dacey, Jr. and Andrew Dacey, his brother; Daniel Dacey and his sisters; Alice Coakley and Sr. Mary Trasita Dacey.
Visiting hours will be held on Thursday, April 5, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Friday, April 6 in St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem. Interment with military honors will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hanover Hill for all the love and care that they gave him during his stay there.
