Obituary

Pauline F. (Michaud) Ouellette peacefully passed away at Mary Immaculate Nursing Restorative Center on September 12, 2021, after a period of declining health.

She was born and educated in Lowell, MA on June 20, 1928, and she recently celebrated her 93 rd birthday with family eating her favorite strawberries, cream, and cupcakes. She graduated from St. Jean D'Arc  Elementary School and St. Joseph High School in 1947.

Pauline was full of fun and truly brought light and laughter to each and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Pauline and Roger lived at Coles Mobile Home Village in Salem, NH for 39 years. They loved owning their first home and hosting holidays and barbeque picnics for aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. Dad took a million pictures and our memories of these get-togethers will be forever in our hearts. Pauline moved to Mary Immaculate independent residential community in Lawrence in June 2014.

Pauline worked at the Internal Revenue and both she and Roger worked at Western Electric in North Andover where she was an ordering clerk. She retired after 20 years of service. She was very proud of her collection of all things pertaining to telephones – cookie jars, pins, and her anniversary clock from Western Electric Bell Telephone. Pauline lived a full and active life and had many good friends at the Salem Senior Center. She and Roger loved Vermont, square dancing (for about 45 years with the Hilltown Squares and Pelham Partners), camping with family and going to Brown's Lobster Pound where she always set the table with her red and white checked linen tablecloth and battery-operated candle. She loved music and tapped her feet as soon as a song was heard. She played the piano beginning at four years of age and continued to enjoy her spinet keyboard well into her nineties.

Pauline was predeceased by her beloved husband of 55 years, Roger Joseph Ouellette, her parents Marie Ann (Levasseur) and John Michaud, her siblings Rita Beland, Gerard Michaud, and Dorothy MacDougall and her son-in-law Dana Muise.

She leaves three devoted and loving daughters, Elaine Grelle and husband Frank of Methuen, MA,  Joanne Ouellette of Pepperell, MA,  Diane Muise of Methuen, MA, and special friend and fourth daughter Kathleen Raftery; her cherished  granddaughters Amy and husband Owen Evans of Chelmsford, MA  and their children Carys  and  Zachary, and Tara and husband Mark Gosselin of Londonderry, NH and their children Jackson and Isabelle and  numerous nieces and nephews. She loved being with all of you.

The family wishes to acknowledge the exceptional assistance given by the entire staffs at Mary Immaculate and at Merrimack Valley Hospice who treated our mother like their own. We love you to the moon and back and we know you are whole again as Dad greets you in heaven.

Visitation will be Friday, Sept. 17th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM at Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem NH.  A Funeral Mass will be at 10:00 AM on Saturday, Sept. 18th at Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Road, Salem, NH.
