Peter M. Lescarbeau, 69, of Salem, NH died unexpectedly Friday, August 31, 2018 at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, surrounded by his family.
He was born on May 21, 1949 in Lawrence, MA, the son of Lionel and Rita (Binette) Lescarbeau. He has been a resident of Salem for nearly 45 years.
Peter was a graduate of Central Catholic High School and a Vietnam Veteran of the US Air Force. He was employed at the United States Postal Service for nearly 45 years before retiring in 2017. He held many positions from supervisor to window clerk over the years.
Peter will forever be remembered for his sense of humor and always trying to make everyone laugh. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his seven grandchildren. He will be remembered as a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend.
Peter is survived by his wife of 44 years, Deborah Lescarbeau of Salem, NH; his children, daughter Heather Hunscher (Brendan) of Colchester, CT, son Jason Lescarbeau (Jessica) of Pittsfield, NH and son Jeffrey Lescarbeau of Salem, NH. Peter will also be lovingly remembered by his 7 grandchildren Leah, Ella, Lucas and Zoey Lescarbeau and Savannah, Ryan and Liam Hunscher as well as his brother Ronald and sisters Virginia Valliere (Michael), Phyllis Girard and Lynn Lescarbeau (Donald Wood) and by his sister in law; Marie Lescarbeau. Peter was predeceased by his brothers Gerald, Dennis and David Lescarbeau. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and extended family and dear friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, September 7, 2018 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, September 8 th at 10:00am in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. Burial with military honors will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.Friday
