Philip O. Martel passed away on May 24, 2022 after a courageous battle with Cancer and Pneumonia. The son of Phillip A. Martel and Dorothy "Mottram" Martel, Phil was married for 39 years to Marlene Martel and leaves behind 2 Stepchildren, Michelle Vicente and John Kennedy, and 3 Grandchildren, Nicolas Vicente, Lucas Kennedy, and Hailey Kennedy. Phil had 5 Siblings; Jack Martel, Dave Martel, Jean Martel (Deceased), Ann Moreau and Dorothy Martel.

A proud Graduate of MIT University with a Master's Degree in Engineering completed in 1972, Phil spent many years working as an engineer for GE, Sentech Acoustics, and BAE Systems. Phil enjoyed computers and ham radio; he took great pride serving as a mentor to the students of the Melrose HS Robotics Team, and with woodworking at the Make It Labs in Nashua, NH where he designed bowls for Pediatric Cancer Patients. Phil will be greatly missed by family, friends, and all who knew him.
