Obituary

Renee M. Tofanelli, 59, died at home unexpectedly in her sleep during the early morning hours of May 30, 2022. Born in Brighton, MA, Renee went on to spend a good amount of her life in various New Hampshire towns where she eventually settled in Salem, NH which she has called home for the last fifteen years. She graduated from Winnacunnet High School where she excelled in field hockey, art, and pottery. She was a phenomenal artist and was offered a scholarship to pursue her talent but turned it down due to it being in South Carolina. Renee went on to graduate from trade school where she became a plumber. She took great pride in being a female plumber and always having a natural talent for it. Her biggest struggle in the field was trying to get uniforms with her name spelled correctly, as it was a male dominated field. She would constantly receive them with the male version of her name. It was in that career you could truly see how big her heart was. Renee helped so many struggling families by providing services for free, and was always the first to offer help to friends and family. She touched the lives of so many people that she encountered. She had a sense of humor with a quick wit that would leave everyone around her laughing. Her smile and laugh were contagious. Renee's other hobbies were doing home projects and renovations, mowing the grass on her riding lawn mower, spending time with her loved ones and her English Bulldog.

Renee is survived by her mother, Nancy M. Tofanelli; her daughter, Sara E. Tofanelli; her long-time girlfriend Karen M. Howshan; her aunt, Phyllis Guarino; her sister, Rhonda Tofanelli; her grandson, and many friends who loved her dearly.

There will be a public service for those who loved Renee to gather and say their goodbyes held at the Douglas and Johnson Funeral Home located at 214 Main St. in Salem, NH on Friday, 03 June from 5-7 p.m.

We ask that you bring a picture of Renee and don't forget to write a memory on the collages that will be set up.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Mission Unified Impact which is the organization her daughter founded that gives back to people in need.
