Richard H. Brady, 85, of Salem, NH, formerly of Vero Beach, FL passed away on Thursday, February 10, 2022 at the Lahey Hospital & Medical Center, Burlington, MA. He was born in Beverly, MA, a son of the late Francis and Eva (Helinski) Brady. His mother Eva passed away when he was very young so he was also raised by his step-mother; Leila Brady who preceded him in death.
Mr. Brady proudly served his country as a member of the U.S. Army as a paratrooper. He worked for many years as a truck mechanic for Texaco and later for White Fuel. He truly enjoyed spending time at his home in Alton Bay, NH on Lake Winnipesaukee. Mr. Brady also enjoyed working on cars, fixing them up and entering races when he was younger. He also enjoyed working on boats, and at one point had owned a marina in Danvers, MA with a friend. He also loved going to casinos and playing the slot machines. He enjoyed camping and hiking, boating, watching football, the Red Sox, Tom Brady and was a NASCAR fan.
He is survived by his daughters; Leslie Sheehan and her husband James of Salem, NH and Jennifer Brady, by his three grandchildren; Lindsey Cucchiara and her husband John, Jaclyn Sheehan and Nicholas Genthner and his wife Amanda, by his four great-grandchildren; Cassandra and Jackson Cucchiara and Dylan and Landon Genthner and also leaves behind many Family and Friends He was predeceased by his beloved wife; Patricia (Rathe) Brady, by his daughter; Barbara Genthner and by his brother; Francis Brady.
Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, February 15, 2022 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem, NH. A funeral will follow Tuesday at 7:00pm in the funeral home followed by military honors. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to The Dementia Society of America, P.O. Box 600, Doylestown, Pa. 18901.
