It is with great sorrow, the family of Richard Roland Casey, AKA Dick, announces his passing on February 18 ^th , 2023.  His passing came after a period of declining health from dementia.   Born March 4, 1935 in Boston, MA.   Growing up in Cambridge and graduating from Rindge High School, he later joined the Army in 1958 and was honorably discharged in 1959.  He lived for many years in Somerville, Massachusetts with his wife Carol and two sons.  They moved to Salem NH 16 years ago to be closer to his sons.  Richard is survived by wife Carol A. Casey, of Salem, NH, Son Richard J Casey of Derry NH, and wife Rita Cassarino Casey, their two children Nicole Porcaro and husband Mark Porcaro of Winthrop Massachusetts and great grandchild Damien, Michael Casey and fiancé Jenny Norman of Barnstead NH and great grandchild Brody.  Son Paul D Casey of Atkinson NH and wife Molly Greenheck Casey, their four children, Caroline Casey of Atkinson NH, Patrick Richard Casey of Boston , Massachusetts, Sarah and Joseph of Atkinson NH.  Also survived by brother in law James Smith of Woburn Massachusetts and nephew Steven Smith and wife Diane of Arlington Massachusetts and their two children, Ashley and Ryan.  Dick was a man of faith and his family is comforted knowing he is in the arms of his savior.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.  A funeral service will follow Thursday at 4:00pm in the funeral home followed by military honors.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to Alzheimer's Association National Capital Area Chapter, 8180 Greensboro Drive, Suite 400, McLean, VA 22102.
