Richard "Dick" J. Deputy, 80, of Salem, NH died peacefully after a long illness Wednesday, May 9 ^th at Salemhaven Nursing Home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born and educated in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, the son of the late Marie (Viggiano) and Edward Deputy. He was a longtime store manager for Kresge/KMart Corporation in multiple locations along the East Coast and highly involved with the Rotary Club in Maryland.  Dick was respected by his colleagues and admired for his extensive experience and knowledge of the retail industry. He adored his canine companions, and was a self-taught artist who enjoyed drawing and painting. An avid watcher of classic western movies, he had a fondness for those that starred John Wayne. His greatest love was spending time with his children and grandchildren and was always there to support them in their numerous activities.

Dick is survived by his wife Doris (Jones) Deputy of Salem; his children, Denise Waites and her husband Michael of Wellington, FL, Mark Deputy and his wife Erica of Derry, NH, Senator Chuck Morse and his wife Susan of Salem, NH, Debbie Bowen and her husband Tim of Londonderry, NH; Donna Harris and her husband David of Salem, NH. Grandchildren Michael and Caitlin Waites, Haley and Kory Deputy, Emma Morse, Erin, Christopher, Stephen and Laura Bowen and David, Cameron and Craig Harris and 3 great grandchildren.

He is predeceased by his twin sisters, Joan and Joyce Deputy of Philadelphia, PA.

Visitation will be private for the family. All are welcome to the Funeral Mass being held Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, 40 Main St., Salem, NH. Burial is in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem, Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH.
