Richard John Smerdon, 64, of Salem, NH passed away unexpectedly in February 2023. Richard was born in Lawrence, MA on September 5th, 1958. He grew up in Methuen, MA where he earned his nickname "Rocky" during an early childhood accident when he hit his head on a cement stair casing causing injury to his forehead. From that time forward, "Rick" became "Rock "in recognition of his skull being as "hard as a rock". He would soon after, at age five, move with his family to Salem, NH continuing on there to adulthood. Rocky was an easy going guy who kept to himself but loved sharing his time with his family. He drove a semi truck for a living for most of his adult life. He was loved deeply by not only his family members but the close circle of friends he developed throughout his life. He will be missed and remembered by the many lives he touched.

Rocky is survived by his Brother Kenneth E. Smerdon Jr. and his wife Alethea D. Smerdon; Sister Sandra J. LaBelle and husband James LaBelle; Sister-in-Law Tanya L. Smerdon wife of (pre-deceased) Brother David J. Smerdon; Half Sister Julie A. O'Shaughnessy; and close family friend William R. McLennan II and wife Dianne McLennan.

Rocky is predeceased by his Father Kenneth E. Smerdon Sr.; Mother Rosemary Frances Therrian; Sister Cynthia A. Clark; and Brother David J. Smerdon.

His family has honored his passing privately and there will not be any formal services.
