Richard "Harry" Solt, 74, of Salem, NH passed away on August 19th at Holy Family Hospital in Methuen, MA.

Harry grew up in Pennsylvania, the son of the late Fern and Harvey Solt. A proud veteran, he served in the US Air Force for 20 years embodying dedication and service to his country. After retiring from the Air Force, he kept himself busy doing odd jobs. Harry's passion for auto racing was a cornerstone of his life.  He enjoyed working in the pit crews and watching the races. Known for enjoying a good breakfast, Harry was a familiar face at Mary Ann's Diner and other local diners. He was a member of the New England Auto Racing Museum in Loudon, NH. Above all, Harry's heart belonged to his granddaughters. He cherished every moment with them.

Harry's final act of kindness was to donate organs to help others.

Harry is survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Margaret "Peggy" Solt of Salem, NH; his children, Kellie Solt and fiancé Richard Holloran of Clearwater, FL and Richard Solt, Jr and his wife Jodi of Salem, NH; his twin brother, William Solt and siblings, Susan Long and Michael Solt, all of PA; his beloved granddaughters, who were his pride and joy, Courtney Agresto, Madison Solt and Miranda Solt; his great granddaughter, Adelaide Agresto and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be Friday, August 22 from 9:30 AM – 11:00 AM followed by a funeral service at 11:00 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Salem.
