Robert P. Benoit, 86, a lifelong resident of Lawrence, MA passed away Friday, May 25 ^th at Wingate in Haverhill with his family by his side.

He was born and educated in Lawrence, MA, the son of the late Sarah (Berard) and Arthur Benoit. Bob graduated from Central Catholic High School. He was a member of the Navy Reserves. Bob was a mechanical designer with Varian in Beverly until his retirement.

He enjoyed bowling with his company bowling team, traveling and trips to Foxwoods. He was an avid Boston Bruins fan. The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Wingate in Haverhill, Prescott House in North Andover and the staff at Merrimack Valley Hospice for the wonderful care they gave to Bob during his illness.

Bob is survived by his wife of 67 years, Marion (Gagnon) Benoit of Lawrence, MA; his 5 children, Rob Benoit and wife Donna of Hampton, NH, Dave Benoit of CT, Cindy Laroche and husband Bob of Bradford, MA, Kevin Benoit and wife Donna of Dracut, MA and Sandi Sciuto and husband Jack of Londonderry, NH;  his 7 grandchildren, Brian, Jason, Sarah, Kerri, Amanda, Jesse and Samantha;  and his 6 great grandchildren, Aiden, Amelia, Jovie, Alyson, Mary and Logan. .

He was predeceased by his siblings, Paul Benoit and Marie MacHarrie.

There are no calling hours. A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 31 ^st at 10:30 AM at Bellevue Cemetery on the Barker St. entrance in Lawrence, MA. The Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH is honored to assist the Benoit family with the arrangements.
