Robert L. Curnew, 84, formerly of Salem NH passed away at Sunrise Assisted Living in Leominster, MA on September 29,2023. Robert, better known as Bob, called Salem NH his home for nearly 60 years and raised his family there with his wife Lorraine. Robert was a devoted husband, a loving father, grandfather and great grandfather, and a good friend to many.

Robert was raised in Methuen MA and graduated from Tenney High School. Robert spent most of his working years at Raytheon and was an engineering specialist before retiring in 1995. Robert enjoyed golfing, growing vegetables and flowers in his gardens, and working to make his yard a favorite spot for family and friends to gather by the pool in the summer. Robert also enjoyed trips to Florida in the winter with Lorraine and in earlier years Robert took family trips with his children to various destinations.

Robert will be deeply missed by his 3 children, Kathleen Moffett and her husband Jim of Midway FL, Robert "Larry" Curnew of Salem NH and Mary-Ellen Soucy and her husband Paul of Leominster MA, his 9 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren.

Robert was predeceased by his wife Lorraine (Knight) Curnew in 2018.

Visitation is Wednesday, October 4th from 4:00 -7:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem NH. The funeral service is Thursday at 10:30 AM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery in Salem, NH. Contributions in Robert's name can be made to the Boys and Girls Club of Salem, NH.
