Robert “Bob” Elliott, 94, of Boiling Springs, SC and formerly of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on Oct. 13, 2026. He was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, community leader, and man of faith, leaving behind a legacy of love, service, and devotion to his family and community.

Bob grew up in Rhode Island and was the son of the late Margaret and William Elliott. He went on to attend Boston University, where he earned a degree in Liberal Arts and later graduated from the Boston University School of Theology.

Bob was deeply committed to serving his community. He was a longtime member and past president of the Salem Lions Club, where he dedicated himself to helping others. Bob also served on the Salem Budget Committee and proudly represented his community as a State Representative for 16 years. His commitment to public service reflected his genuine desire to make a difference in the lives of those around him.

Faith was an important part of Bob’s life. He was an active and devoted member of Triumphant Cross Lutheran Church, where he found fellowship, purpose, and friendship.

Outside of his work and community service, Bob enjoyed golfing and boating. He especially cherished the time spent with his family. Above all, Bob and his beloved wife, Barbara, shared a remarkable bond. They were deeply committed to one another and were rarely apart. Together, they were a wonderful team, sharing life's joys, challenges, and countless memories side by side.

Bob will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of almost 50 years, Barbara Elliott, and his children: Debra Elliott of Canada; Stephen Elliott and his partner Claudia of Spartanburg, SC; Donna English of NY; Roy Gaw and wife Crystal of Gaffney, SC; James Gaw and wife Kelli, of Spartanburg, SC; Elizabeth Gaw and partner Karen of Salem, NH and Robert Gaw and wife Galena of Inman, SC and his sister, Mary McShane of RI. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews, who will carry his memory with them.

He was predeceased by his sons, Mark and Kevin Elliott; his brother, William Elliott and his grandson, Chris.

Bob leaves behind not only a loving family, but also a community that benefited from his years of service, generosity, and dedication. His love for Barbara, his devotion to his family, his faith, and his commitment to helping others will be remembered and cherished for generations to come.

May he rest in peace, knowing that he made a lasting difference in the lives of so many.
