Bob grew up in Lawrence, MA , the son of the late Mildred and Walter Heinze. He graduated from Lawrence High School and Northeastern University. He proudly served his country in the US Navy on the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt during the Korean War. Bob worked as an engineer at AT & T, retiring at an early age with a golden parachute. This allowed him to travel around the country and Europe with his beloved wife, Kay.   He was a member of the Christian Fellowship Church and he sang in the choir. Bob was very proud of his German heritage, compiled extensive genealogical records, and he maintained his relationships with his family in Germany. Bob enjoyed gardening, woodcarving, carpentry, skiing, camping, polka dancing, and traveling. He was a talented handyman who could fix anything. Bob enjoyed being active and was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. He had a deep faith and he dearly loved his family, his church community, and his country.

Bob will be deeply missed by his 3 children, Robert D. Heinze of Lawrence, MA, Beverly Heinze- Lacey and husband James of Newburyport, MA, and Kathryn Riordan and husband Daniel of Naples, ME; his sisters, Elizabeth "Betty" Rhodes of Salem, NH, Carolyn Perrault and husband Robert of Bonita Springs, FL and sister-in law Beatrice Heinze of Beverly, MA; his 6 grandchildren, Anthony, Andrew, Max, Lee, Corey and wife Kassandra, and Caitlin; his caring companion, Eunice Veit and her son David, and several nieces and nephews.
