Robert J. Moakley, age 91, of Windham, NH passed away on Sunday, January 2, 2022, surrounded by his loving family.

Bob was born and educated in Lexington, MA the oldest of 11 children of the late Mary (Peake) and Robert P. Moakley.  As a young man, he was proud to serve in the United States Army.  Later Bob was employed by the MBTA as a bus driver for several years until he retired.  He was happy to work hard and provide for his family.  He was a member of the Boston Carmen's Union, the Masonic Lodge in Melrose, MA and the Bektash Shrine Center in Concord, NH.  Bob was kindhearted, sociable, and friendly.  He enjoyed conversation, watching Westerns, and listening to music.  Some of his favorites were John Denver, Madonna, Irish music and especially the song "Charlie on the MTA".

Bob will be deeply missed by his beloved wife of 57 years, Rita (Malloy) Moakley of Windham, NH; his two children Kevin Moakley and Karla Moakley, both of Windham, NH; his siblings, Frederick Moakley of Raymond, NH, James Moakley of FL, and Mary Jane Morgan of OK; several nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his siblings, Miriam, Margaret, Patrick, Rena, Joseph, Julia, and William.

Services were delayed due to covid and are scheduled for Saturday April 2, 2022, at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH 03079.  Visiting hours will be held 10:00am to 11:00am followed by a funeral service at 11:00am.  A celebration of Bob's life will follow at noon at The Irish Cottage, 17 Branch St., Methuen, MA 01844.
