Samuel Kayajan Jr., 96, of Salem, NH, passed away peacefully on June 18, 2026.

Born and raised in Middleborough, MA, Sam was a proud graduate of Middleborough High School. After high school, he served in the Army Air Corps. Samuel was a software engineer for Control Data Co. Throughout his life, he was known for his brilliant mind, remarkable memory, and seemingly endless wealth of knowledge. Family and friends often marveled at his encyclopedic understanding of countless subjects and his ability to recall facts and details with incredible accuracy.

Sam had a lifelong fascination with weather and meteorology. He faithfully followed weather forecasts and storms, while wearing his beloved Hurricane Hunter baseball cap.

His curiosity about the natural world never faded and remained a source of enjoyment throughout his life.

A true car enthusiast, Sam appreciated innovation and performance. He proudly owned a Chevrolet SS and was also among the early adopters of hybrid technology, driving one of the first model Toyota Prius vehicles. Cars were more than transportation to him—they were a passion and a hobby he enjoyed discussing with anyone willing to listen.

Above all, Sam valued his family and the many relationships he built over his long and meaningful life. He will be remembered for his intelligence, curiosity, humor, and the countless conversations through which he shared his knowledge with others.

Sam was predeceased by his brother, Charlie Kayajan, and his cousins George Kayajan and Bertha “Bunny” Kayajan.

Samuel is survived by his nephews, Thomas Kayajan, James Kayajan, and Fr. Daniel Kayajan, his cousin Margaret Najarian as well as extended family and friends who will cherish his memory. Family and friends will forever remember Sam’s sharp mind, his love of weather and automobiles, and the unique perspective he brought to every conversation.

The Funeral Service will be Friday, June 26, 2026 at 11:30 am at Nemasket Hill Cemetery, 515 Plymouth St., Middleborough, MA. Please arrive by 11:15 am.
