Shirley A. Harwood, 84, of Salem, NH passed away on Thursday, November 30, 2023 in the High Pointe Hospice House, Haverhill, MA surrounded by her loving family.  She was born in Portland, ME, a daughter of the late John and Elsie (Richards) Driscoll.

Shirley was a great, loving and caring woman who devoted herself to her children and was a stay at home mom.  Once her kids were out on their own she worked at the Macy's jewelry counter and later as a medical assistant for Dr. Stein.  Shirley was super supportive, always thinking of her children and their need and never said the word "no."  She loved her home and enjoyed decorating it.  She definitely had a knack for decorating and her children promised to decorate her home for the holidays.  Shirley was an avid bowler; she enjoyed her Hallmark channel on TV and challenging herself learning technology with her Ipad.  Shirley loved going antiquing with her great group of friends.  She also loved spending time and caring for her grandchildren.

She is survived by her children; Sheri Homsey of Salem, Glen A. Harwood of Salem and Christopher John Harwood of Salem, by her grandchildren; Samantha L. Smith and her husband Shane, Glenn M. Homsey and his wife Alyssa, Austin D. Homsey, Madilyn Grace Harwood, Gavin Harry Harwood, Dallen John Harwood and Koda Joseph Learned Harwood, by her great-grandchildren; Logan Philip Smith, Caden S. Smith and McKay Lyn Smith as well as by several nieces and nephews.  She was predeceased by her ex husband Alfred Harwood but remained friends until his death 2013 and by her siblings; John Driscoll, Frances Teehan and Donna Ianelli and by her son-in-law; Glenn Homsey.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, December 7, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main Street, Salem.  A funeral service will follow Thursday at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
