Stephen J. Messina, 60, of Salem, NH passed away on Saturday, February 26, 2022 at the Holy Family Hospital, Methuen, MA.  He was born in Methuen, a son to Alfia "Frieda" C. (Catalano) Newell and the late Donald Messina, Sr.

Mr. Messina was a very talented mechanic who enjoyed working on cars and fixing things.  His entire career was spent working on Jeep/Dodge/Chrysler products.  He was currently a mechanic for Priority Chrysler Dodge Jeep of Salisbury.  Mr. Messina enjoyed warm weather and his visits to Florida. The most important things in his life were his family, work and taking care of his daughter; Faith.

He is survived by his children; Jason J. Messina and his wife Lauren, Stephanie Brent and her husband Skylar, Nicole Messina, Marissa Messina and Faith Callahan, by his mother; Frieda C. (Catalano) Newell and her husband John, by his four grandchildren; Brianna and Ava and Nathan and Colton.  He is also survived by his siblings; Donald Messina and his wife Kelly, Constance Messina, Sheila Messina and Jennifer Blaise, by his uncle; Ronald Messina and also by several nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 from 10:00am to 12:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem.  A funeral service will follow Tuesday at 12:00pm in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in the Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
