Steven "Steve" J. Furtado, 34 passed away unexpectedly on Monday, April 17, 2023. He was born in Lowell, MA, a son of Kathleen (Albert) Furtado and the late Joe A. Furtado.

Steve graduated from Pinkerton Academy, Class of 2006 and he was currently attending Northern Essex Community College studying music. Anyone who knew Steve knew music was his life; he was a talented musician and loving working in the music industry. His work in lighting and sound set up at outdoor venues and festivals took him from the East Coast to West Coast and everywhere in between. Steve also loved playing basketball and enjoyed attending Celtics games with his brother and grandmother. He was a lover of life, a traveler, a genuine, giving and compassionate gentle soul who was creative, expressive and extremely positive. Steve had unconditional love for all, especially his family, he was the best big brother ever and his love (and loss) will be felt forever.

He is survived by his mother; Kathleen (Albert) Furtado and his siblings; Samantha, Andrew and Amanda Furtado, all of Derry. He is also survived by his paternal grandmother; Evangelina Furtado, his maternal grandmother; Lillian Albert, his maternal grandfather; Armand Albert, by his aunts and uncles; Maria and David Somers, Joseph Albert, Karen and Eddie Pennachi, Susan and Steve LaPierre, Stephen and Michelle Albert, Joshua and Hazel Albert, Rebecca Albert and Frank and Lisha Furtado. He is also survived by many cousins. He was predeceased by his father; Joe A. Furtado and his paternal grandfather; Jose Furtado.

Following cremation visiting hours will be held on Friday, April 28, 2023 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem, NH. A funeral service will follow Friday at 7:00pm in the funeral home.
