Susan Sass, 76, of Salem, NH passed away suddenly at Greystone Farm in Salem, NH on May 4, 2024.

She grew up and was educated in Long Island, NY and she graduated from Elmont Memorial High School. Susan graduated Summa Cum Laude from the University of Buffalo and she received her Bachelor's Degree in English Literature. She was pursuing her Master's Degree with dreams of becoming a teacher when she was diagnosed with a mental illness that changed the course of her life. She was very resilient, and managed to live independently in Salem, New Hampshire near her beloved sister, Andrea Wheeler, for the last 23 years of her life.  Susan enjoyed reading English Literature and poetry, shopping at the Dollar Store, eating sweets, and playing the piano. She touched many lives with her sense of humor and unique character.

Susan was predeceased by her devoted parents, Paul and Jeanne Sass, of Lake Worth, Florida and her brother-in-law, Herbert Wheeler of Salem, NH.  She is survived by her loving siblings, Andrea Wheeler of Salem, NH and Kenneth Sass and his wife Wendy of Williamsville, NY, and her nephew, Reuben Sass. She is also survived by caring cousins Cynthia Dryer, Billy and Rebeca Sass, Diane and Jerry Forman, and her Aunt Trudy Garshofsky. Susan had many friends and supportive caregivers in her life, and the family is grateful to all those who appreciated her and were part of her life. Anyone who got to know Susan never forgot her.

There will be a memorial service to celebrate her life on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 12 noon, followed by a luncheon.  Location, Copper Door Restaurant, 41 S. Broadway, Salem, NH 03079.
