Thomas E. Farley, 71, of Salem, NH died suddenly June 3 rd at Lawrence General Hospital.
Tom was born in Cambridge, MA the son of the late James A. and Louise E. (Toomey) Farley. He served 20 years in the US Air Force, retiring from New Boston Air Force Station in 1987 as Senior Master Sargent. During his military career Tom served his country in The Vietnam War and was awarded several commendations including The Meritorious Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal and The National Defense Service Medal.
After retiring, he managed Steenbeke and Sons Building Supply in Salem for 10 years. Tom spent the last 23 years working full time at AB Supply and part time at the BP gas station on Main St. in Salem for the past 30 years. Thomas took great pride in his ability to build relationships with colleagues and customers in his daily work and felt that this was integral to how business should be conducted. He always made you feel like you were his first priority!
Thomas will be sadly missed by his beloved wife of 50 years, Ronna (Powers) Farley of Salem, NH; his three children, Tamara Kohler of Exeter, NH, Tracie Ruggles and husband Jeffrey of Claremont, NH, and James Farley and wife Stacy of Penacook, NH; his siblings, Linda Noone of Acton, MA and James "Jay" Farley of Fairfield, CT; his 8 grandchildren; his 3 great grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his brother, Richard Farley who passed away on the same day as Thomas and his sister Barbara Gustin.
Services will be private for the family. Arrangements are under the care of Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St. Salem, NH.
