Thomas F. Lemay, 73, of Salem, NH passed away on Sunday, March 3, 2019 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Lawrence, MA, a son of the late Alfred and Alice (Kent) Lemay.
Mr. Lemay proudly served his country as a U.S. Marine reservist. He worked for over 30 years as a technical artist for Raytheon. He was a very talented and established carpenter who could pretty much build anything. Mr. Lemay loved spending time with his family, going out to eat as often as he could and traveling to the Florida Keys with his wife Sandra. He was a quiet man who absolutely loved the serenity of nature. He enjoyed his backyard, loved animals, spending time fishing in the Lakes Region, classic cars and drag races.
He is survived by his wife of 48 years; Sandra (Hildonen) Lemay of Salem, his four children; Denise L. LeBoeuf and her husband Steven of Salem, Thomas P. Lemay and his wife Anneliese of Laconia, NH, Michael J. Lemay and his wife Laura of Salem and Christine M. Ovalles and her spouse Ariel of Chester, NH. He is also survived by seven grandchildren, Alexandra Cazmay, Michael R. Lemay, Kirsten Lemay, Molly Lemay, Jacoby A. Ovalles, Elijah T. Ovalles and Isandro A. Ovalles and by his brother; James Lemay and his wife Emily of Ft. Meyers, FL. He was also predeceased by his step-mother; Celia Lemay.
Visiting hours will be held Thursday, March 7, 2019 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday at 10:30am in Mary Queen of Peace Church, 200 Lawrence Rd., Salem. Burial will follow in Ridgewood Cemetery, 177 Salem St., N. Andover, MA. In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the MSPCA-Angell, Attn: Donations, 350 South Huntington Ave., Boston, MA 02130.
