Vincent Dominic "Tootie" Marinelli, 96, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 2, 2025 surrounded by his loving family. He was born and raised in Roxbury, MA and was a resident of Salem for over 54 years. Vinnie established, owned and operated United Uniform in Lawrence, MA. He also worked for Servisco Uniform in Lawrence. He was a member of St. Joseph Church in Salem, NH as well as a member and Past Master of Pulpit Rock Lodge in Pelham, NH, the Spickett Lodge in Salem, NH, Valley of Nashua Scottish Rite, the York Rite of Manchester, NH, the Bektash Shriners in Concord, NH, the Amara Shriners of Palm Beach, FL, the Order of the Eastern Star in Salem, NH, the DAV in Salem, NH, the Salem American Legion, the Sons of Italy and the Roxbury Red Raiders. Vinnie was proud to have served his country on the USS Midway as part of his service in the United States Navy. He dedicated many years to the Salem Rams and Salem Baseball organizations. Vinnie was the first NH coach to bring a team to the Senior Little League World Series.
He was predeceased by beloved wife of 47 years, Dorothy ,"Midge" (Lyons) Marinelli of Salem, NH, his son James D. Marinelli of Braintree, MA, his grandson Nicholas V. Kelly of Abington, MA, his parents Margaret and Pietro of Canton, MA , and five brothers: Joseph of Salem, NH, Dominic of Canton, MA, Michael of Avon, MA, Peter of Brockton, MA and Robert of Hanson, MA.
Vinnie is survived by his children, Patricia Marinelli and husband William Kelly of Abington, MA, Joseph Marinelli and wife Lisabeth of John's Creek, GA, Robert Marinelli and wife Monserrate of Derry, NH, daughter-in-law Marianne Marinelli of Braintree, MA, Cheryl Marinelli of Salem, NH, Tina Doherty and husband Greg of Salem, NH and Pietro Marinelli and girlfriend Allison Kalil of Salem, NH. He is also survived by 14 grandchildren: Laura, Matthew, Michael, Christopher, Elena, Andrea, Alexandra, Mark, Gina, Brendan, Colin, Sheridan, Owen and Presley as well as 14 great grandchildren and many loving in-laws, nieces, nephews and life-long friends.
Visitation will be on Sunday April 6th from 1:00 – 5:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St Salem, NH. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Monday at 10:30 AM at St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St, Salem, NH. Burial will be in St. Michael's Cemetery, Roslindale, MA.
