Viola F. Cirella, 97, a longtime resident of Salem, NH passed away on Monday, October 14, 2019 at her home. She was born in Methuen, MA, a daughter of the late Carmin and Carmella (LaProva) Ricci.

Mrs. Cirella attended Methuen Schools and graduated from the Edward F. Searles High School, Class of 1939. She was a communicant of St. Joseph Church, Salem, loved to garden and cook and was an avid reader.

She is survived by her three sons; Michael Cirella of California, Joseph Cirella of East Hampstead, NH and Anthony Cirella and his wife Michelle of Salem, by her three daughters; MaryAnne Murphy of Salem, Judi Kostiew and her husband Michael of Northwood, NH and Constance Courcy and her husband Leo, Jr. of Florida. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, her sister; Louise Pelletier of Salem and by several nieces and nephews.

She was predeceased by her husband; Victor A. Cirella in 1995 and by her 10 brothers and sisters.

Visiting hours will be held Thursday, October 17, 2019 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30am Friday, October 18 ^th in St. Joseph Church, 40 Main St., Salem. Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.
