Virginia M. (Doerr) Holroyd, 91, of Salem, NH passed away on Saturday, June 19, 2021 at the Cedar View Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center, Methuen, MA. She was born in Lawrence, MA, a daughter of the late Walter W. and Alice G. (Ulrich) Doerr.

Mrs. Holroyd grew up in Methuen and graduated from the Edward F. Searles High School. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She enjoyed taking drives and could spend hours at the beach. Mrs. Holroyd sold Avon products for many years; she loved animals and was an avid reader. Most of all, she loved spending time with her grandchildren. She had a heart of gold, genuinely cared about everyone and was an absolute sweetheart.

She is survived by her three daughters; Karen Dahood and husband Kelly of Salem, Pamela Bonaccorsi and husband Joseph of Unity, NH and Gayle Berube and husband Brian of Salem, by two grandchildren; Matthew Bonaccorsi and his wife Hara and Nathan Bonaccorsi and his wife Maria, by three great-grandchildren; Clara, Lauren and Sophia and by several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband; Thomas F. Holroyd, by her brother; Walter Doerr and by her sister; Dorothy Maxner.

Visiting hours will be held Wednesday, June 23, 2021 from 4:00pm to 8:00pm in the Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St., Salem.  A funeral service will be held Thursday, June 24th at 11:00am in the funeral home.  Burial will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, 329 Main St., Salem.  In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Salem Animal Rescue League, 4 SARL Drive, Salem, NH 03079 or to the MSPCA at Nevins Farm, 400 Broadway, Methuen, MA 01844. The family would like to send a special thank you to the entire staff at the Cedar View Rehab & Healthcare Center for taking loving care of our wonderful mother.
