Wayne Johansen, 66, a longtime resident of Salem, New Hampshire, passed away on April 26, 2026.

Wayne built a life centered around the things he loved most—family, the outdoors, and the simple joys of New England living. He had a deep passion for boating and could often be found on the water, whether it was a quiet day on the lake, canoeing, tubing, or enjoying time along the coast of Maine.

Wayne began his career working for the New Hampshire Department of Transportation before transitioning into a successful role as a real estate manager. He was a dedicated and hardworking individual who took pride in everything he did.

A social and active member of his community, Wayne belonged to the American Legion Post 27 Londonderry NH, the Lawrence Elks Lodge, and the British Club of Lawrence, MA, where he enjoyed camaraderie and lasting friendships.

In 2000, Wayne met the love of his life, Rosewinter, while they were both working at a nursing home. Their bond grew from friendship into a lasting partnership built on love and shared experiences.

Wayne had a lifelong love of cars and took pride in his personal collection. He was equally passionate about good food, especially steak, seafood, and anything he could cook on the grill. He also loved traveling throughout New England and was a devoted fan of Boston sports teams, always cheering them on with enthusiasm.

Wayne is survived by his loving wife Rosewinter; his beloved twin daughters, Heather and Hailey Johansen of Salem, NH; his sisters, Leslie Quigley and her husband Bruce of FL, and Allison Wichert and her husband Joseph of NH; as well as many cherished nieces and nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Tuesday, May 5th, from 3:00 to 5:00 PM, followed by a funeral service at 5:00 PM at Douglas & Johnson Funeral Home, 214 Main St, Salem, NH.

Wayne will be remembered for his love of life, his dedication to family, and the many memories he created on the water, on the road, and around the grill.
