William "Bill"
Gorman
d. May 26, 2026
Salem
William "Bill" Gorman, of Salem, NH passed away peacefully surrounded by family on May 26, 2026 after battling heart disease for several years. His strength, fortitude and "never give up" attitude will forever be remembered by his loved ones.
Bill was originally from Dorchester, MA and always told anecdotes about growing up there. Some were funny cautionary tales of what not to do and others were filled with the joy and laughter of growing up with seven siblings.
Bill joined the Navy at 17 and said it was one of the best decisions that he made, he was always extremely proud of his service. In the Navy Bill received his GED and went on to finish some college at Northeastern University.
Bill was a hard worker; he spent 40 years working in the HVAC industry. He started as a mechanic and worked his way up to the business side as the regional vice president of ABM Engineering.
It was in his early days as a mechanic, working at State Street Bank in Boston, where he met his wife, Loretta. They were married for 39 years.
When Bill wasn't working, he was an avid reader and loved WW2 history, but above all his favorite thing was playing softball with his daughter.
He enjoyed practicing pitching with her and looked forward to summer ASA tournaments, which took them up and down the East Coast every weekend.
Bill had fun with his friends and neighbors, playing cards and dancing (not well) on Saturday nights to Meatloaf, Queen and U2.
Bill will be deeply missed by his beloved family. He was predeceased by his cherished parents Albert and Rita Gorman, as well as his siblings Michael Gorman and Debra Gorman. He is survived by his loving wife Loretta Gorman and daughter Gina Gorman. As well as his siblings Edward Gorman & his wife Janet, Thomas Gorman, Jo-Ann Guerard & her husband Robert, Rita Moon & her husband James, Joan Brady & her husband John. He will be deeply missed by his in-laws, namely his niece Krista Gaglione. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.
