Willibald H. "Billy" Mahler, 71, of Merrimack, NH passed away on the 29th day of September at his home.

Billy was born in Bad Mergentheim, Germany on Aug 2nd 1950. He immigrated to the United States in 1958 along with his parents and sister.  The family lived in Massachusetts for a few years where Billy mastered the English language and adapted to life in the USA.

In 1963 Billy and his family moved to Salem NH where he was educated and graduated from Salem High School. He served his country by enlisting in the US Army in 1969 deployed  to Vietnam, where he served proudly as a mechanical engineer.   Billy joined the family business working with his father at J. Maher Tool Co in Hampstead NH. and later worked for Colesman in Merrimack, NH.

Billy was a long time shortwave radio enthusiast, enjoyed playing chess and strumming the guitar.  He enjoyed the outdoors and often was seen walking in all weather conditions.  An avid reader, Billy enjoyed sharing his views with friends and family, he was a deep thinker and a man of few words. He was a loyal friend and proud Veteran.

Billy will be deeply missed by his mother, Elfriede Mahler of No. Salem, NH; his sisters, Monika McGillicuddy and her husband Joseph of Hampstead, NH and Heidi Waldron and her husband Gerald of Strafford, NH; his nephews, Martin and fiancé Angela, Michael, Justin and wife Tamara and his three nieces Karissa and husband Dino, Kayla and husband Chris and Kaitlin and husband Trevis and great nephews Mikey, CJ, Auggie, Kason and great nieces Paige, Aria and Adelena.  Billy was predeceased by his father, Johannes Mahler.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, October 8 ^th at 11:00 AM in the chapel at the NH Veterans Cemetery, 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH 03303. Please arrive by 10:45 AM.
